As part of our continued commitment to the development and advocacy of small businesses, Perspecta has been an active participant in various federal and Department of Defense (DoD) Mentor-Protégé Programs (M-PPs) for more than 25 years. We provide development assistance and technology transfer to improve the ability of our protégés to innovate and compete equitably in the marketplace. The small business program has simultaneously participated in several Civilian Agency Mentor Protégé Agreements, providing support to numerous small businesses at no cost to the government.
Programs span the federal sector, including the U.S. Department of Treasury, the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the U.S. Department of the Navy (DON), the U.S. Air Force and the Government of the District of Columbia as well as the State of Maryland. Currently, Perspecta has seven active Mentor-Protégé Agreements: one with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), two with the U.S. Department of the Army and four with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
Our success in mentoring is evidenced by winning the DoD 2017 Nunn-Perry Award. This award is in recognition of the excellent Mentor-Protégé relationship between our program and our protégé, TM3 Solutions, Inc. Our partnership “demonstrated exemplary results in the areas of technical assistance, return on investment, quality and protégé development.” Such results are important to our customer base due to the enhancement of the small business industrial base in areas of greatest technical need. The M-PP mission is to prepare our protégé firms to evolve and become a large or midsize business or a streamlined small business filling a particular niche. We are dedicated to helping our small business partners achieve this goal, and we will provide our highest level of effort toward this end and all that it entails.
