Supporting Medicare since its inception in the mid-1960s

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) rely on Perspecta’s expertise to fulfill its federally mandated missions. Supporting the Medicare program since its inception in the mid-1960s, Perspecta joins CMS in its focus on continuously improving Medicare service delivery to beneficiaries and providers.

Perspecta's data center facility is home to the CMS Virtual Data Center (VDC)—providing mainframe and distributed application hosting, personnel, equipment, facilities, tools, materials and infrastructure support services using our Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) High-certified Tier 4 Data Center. Our VDC provides hosting and support for four Medicare Fee-for-Service (FFS) claims processing systems and operations and maintenance for the Medicare FFS Part A, Part B Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Common Working File (CWF) claims processing systems.

Our application services teams provide operations, maintenance, development and cloud migration support for CMS’ Medicare FFS Part A Shared System that adjudicates 100% of Medicare Part A Claims, Part B Shared System that processes 100% of the non DME Part B claims, and the Integrated Data Repository (IDR)—the centerpiece of CMS’s Enterprise Data Warehouse Strategy.

We partner with CMS and U.S. Digital Services (USDS) on the Medicare Payment System Modernization (MPSM) initiative. We bring experience and knowledge in Medicare Part A and Part B FFS Claims processing provider and beneficiary data. Our solutions promote open architectures and data access and deploy technology, tools and methods that are aligned with the U.S. Digital Services Playbook as adopted by the MPSM modernization team.
